Glimpse Into The Past

I took this photograph when I visited the V&A. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s a photograph of a lady holding her daily schedule for Thursday 14th June 1956. She was going to go to the factory at 10am, have lunch at 1pm and a hat fitting at 5pm. By 6pm she was going to have cocktails at home and dinner with bridge. What a civilised lady with her glamorous, chunky ring on her left hand. I just loved the intimacy of looking at somebody’s to-do list, framed by the owner’s hands. It feels almost as if we’re looking at the days events through her eyes.
